AS is reporting that PSG are desperate to sign Takefusa Kubo from Real Madrid.
Since Real Madrid managed to snatch Takefusa Kubo from Barcelona, the interest in him has grown. AS is reporting that PSG’s sporting director, Leonardo, is focusing his attention on landing Takefusa Kubo, currently on loan at Mallorca.
To the frustration of the french club, neither the player nor Real Madrid are interested in this deal. Kubo is one of Florentino Perez’s favorite players. He has everything that the president likes: great talent and marketability. AS reports that Real Madrid have told PSG that they will not sell the player under any conditions. Kubo’s buyout clause is 250 million euros.
According to rumors, close to 30 clubs are interested in signing or loaning Kubo. Teams like Ajax, Lazio, Milan and Celtic and more than 10 teams in La Liga, among them Real Betis and Real Sociedad are interested.
Real Madrid are interested in keeping the player in Spain, so that he can get his second citizenship and won’t use a NON-EU spot if he is to come back to Madrid. Los Blancos also want Kubo to gain experience in European football, which means that his next team could be playing in Europa League or Champions League.
There’s also a possibility, albeit small, that he returns to Real Madrid. Coach Zidane is very happy with him but hasn’t revealed what his plans for Kubo are.
Note: the source for these rumors is not disclosed by AS so it’s hard to tell how legitimate they are.
