Achraf Hakimi, one of Real Madrid’s best prospects, is close to a deal with Inter Milan for a €40 million transfer fee, according to El Chiringuito and Sky Sports Italy.
Late last night, Edu Aguire (El Chiringuito) announced that Achraf Hakimi has decided to leave Real Madrid and that his preferred destination is Inter Milan. Sky Sports Italy journalist, Di Marzio, also announced that Hakimi is close to moving to Inter with the transfer fee expected to be €40 million. The only thing left was for the two parties to agree personal terms.
Apart from Inter Milan, Bayen Munich and Manchester City are also interested in the player.
Competition with Carvajal
It’s rumored that if he were to come back to Madrid his spot wouldn’t be guaranteed. Hakimi would have to fight for a spot with Dani Carvajal, much like Mendy does with Marcelo. This could be the potential dealbreaker for Hakimi and his agent who seem to be very interested in guaranteed playing time.
Credibility of the Sources
It’s not clear yet how credible these rumors are. Di Marzio is not a credible source when it comes to Spanish teams, but he is somewhat credible when it comes to Italian teams. When it comes to Real Madrid, he’s had huge blunders in the past when he reported that Luka Modric will join Inter Milan and Benzema will go to Milan, both of which proved to be false information.
Only last month, Achraf Hakimi’s agent affirmed that the player’s dream is to succeed at Real Madrid. He also spoke about the possibility of being loaned out again or being sold with a buyback clause. This might be an attempt by the player’s agent to secure a better deal with Real Madrid.
