- Reports indicated that Ramos and Real Madrid have reached an agreement in contract negotiations
Real Madrid have offered Sergio Ramos a 2-year extension, according to the latest reports from Spanish journalist Melchor Ruiz.
The captain’s current contract expires at the end of the 2020/21 season. During the summer, both parties hinted that negotiations are underway and that they are going good. Now, it seems the negotiations are coming to an end and Ramos will be rewarded with a two year contract. Due to the economic crisis created by the pandemic, Ramos’s salary will stay the same.
Real Madrid is not known for giving contract extensions longer than 1 year to players that are nearing retirement. But Ramos has proven to be an invaluable asset for the club. His presence on the field can’t be replaced and outside off it he has been an incredible captain for Real Madrid.
Sergio Ramos, 34, is playing his 16th season for Real Madrid and just last matchday reached a new milestone with the club: 100 goal scored for Real Madrid.
