Sergio Ramos is the highest-scoring defender in the history of the league after scoring against Real Sociedad. The captain has scored 68 goals in the competition (66 for Real Madrid and 2 for Sevilla) and has overtaken Ronald Koeman’s 67 goals.
Ramos, who has found the net in each of the last 16 LaLiga seasons, is the defender to have been on target in the most campaigns (Sanchís scored in 14 seasons and Larrazabal in 13). His most prolific LaLiga campaign, with seven goals to his name, has been the current season and the 2016/17 campaign, followed by the 2018/19 season (six goals) and the 2006/07 and 2007/08 campaigns (five). He ended the 2005/06, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15 and 2017/18 seasons on four goals, whilst he notched three times in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 campaigns and chipped in with two strikes in the 2015/16 and 2004/05 seasons.
Unfortunately, he injured his knee after a duel with Isak and will most likely miss the next game. Real Madrid have not released the medical report yet.
