With the title race as close as it ever was, every little detail matters. One of the details that Los Blancos think goes against them is the La Liga schedule, especially when compared to second place Barcelona.
This has forced Real Madrid to lodge a complain with La Liga, asking for explanations about schedule. What has made Real Madrid particularly unhappy is the 72 hours break between the Getafe match and Athletico Bilbao match. Barcelona on the other hand will get full five days of rest for the same matchdays.
Real Madrid will have to play against Getafe on Thursday at 22:00 CEST and then 72 hours later on Sunday at 14:00 CEST in an away game against Athletic Bilbao. Los Blancos will have to leave Valdebebas on Friday at 02:00 to arrive in Bilbao on Saturday, which will add to their tiredness and physical fatigue.
