- Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is planning to save money this summer in order to sign Mbappe in 2021
- Real Madrid will not make any signings this summer unless they are absolutely necessary
Kylian Mbappe is the player who is expected to dominate the post Cristiano and Messi era. He has been in Real Madrid’s radar since he was very young, but Los Blancos failed to sign him in 2018 when he joined PSG from Monaco. Now his contract with PSG is nearing it’s end and Real Madrid are planning to sign him in 2021, one year before his contract runs out.
This plan will force Real Madrid to sell some players in order to make necessary budget adjustments for signing Mbappe, an operation that might cost around €250-300 million, wages included. James, Bale and other players like Dani Ceballos and Sergio Reguilon could also be sold to finance Mbappe’s signing. Real Madrid will also not make any signings unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Florentino Perez’ plan depends on Mbappe not renewing his contract with PSG. Their owners have attempted multiple time to convince him to renew but did so without any success.
Mbappe on the other hand is in a great position, he can choose to wait and sign for Real Madrid and fulfill his childhood dream of playing for them or renew with PSG and become the highest-paid player in the world. Real Madrid fans certainly hope that he doesn’t renew and signs with Los Blancos instead.
