- Despite joining Real Madrid in summer of 2019, Eden Hazard has not played in an El Classico match yet
- He will not recover in time for the showdown on 24th October
Real Madrid and Hazard have decided not to risk the players health and this means that he will not play in El Classico. Both parties priority is to recover the players health and confidence and then think about returning to the pitch. Everyone wants to see Hazard recover completely and be able to play continuously, something that he could not manage in 2019/20 season due to multiple injuries.
No date has been set for his return. Hazard for the moment continues his recovery process and has not stepped on Valdebebas’ grass. He works inside the facilities together with Odriozola and Carvajal, who are also injured and will miss El Classico.
Since he arrived at Real Madrid Hazard has suffered two muscle injuries and an ankle problem for which he had to undergo surgery after undergoing treatment first, but was injured again after a game against Levante.
